Future Concert Plans.

Lydian Training Orchestra.   The next Course will be from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st March 2010 at Amherst School, Riverhead.  See Lydian Training Orchestra page for how to apply.   The next two courses will probably be for strings only.

The 2010 Easter Concert will be on Saturday April 3rd at St. Nicholas Church at 7.30pm.   The Sevenoaks Young Musician of the Year 2009, Yasmin Rowe, will play Beethoven's 4th Piano Concerto and she will be presented with her medal on that occasion.   The orchestra will be conducted by Brynly Clarke.  Other pieces to be played are Brahms Serenade and Vaughan Williams' Overture "The Wasps".   Tickets will be available from the Sevenoaks Bookshop from the beginning of March and will cost £10 for adults and £5 for 16s and under.

The 2010 Summer Concert will be on Sunday July 4th and will be part of the Sevenoaks Festival.   Geoffrey Paterson has been invited to conduct and hopefully the concert will include a concerto by the Sevenoaks Young Musician of the Year 2010.

The 2010 Christmas Concert will be on Sunday December 19th at Trinity Arts Theatre, Tunbridge Wells and will be conducted by Ethan Merrick.

Future Tours   Although we are not planning a tour for 2009 we will be making plans for the future.   Unfortunately it is not possible to go back to Edinburgh in 2010 because the National Federation of Youth Orchestras, who stage the concerts,  has run out of money.   However, depending on the amount of enthusiasm from players, we are hoping to make a foreign tour in 2011 and will be led by Brynly Clarke.  The trip is likely to be at the end of August of that year.    However in order to do this, we will need your interest and commitment as soon as we publish details and we would probably be looking for a deposit about 9 months in advance.    We cannot plan foreign tours on the basis that you will come if nothing better turns up.   The more commitment we have the cheaper the tour is likely to be!
