The Lydian Orchestra Easter Concert
Dear Players,
All those who took part in the wonderful Christmas concert, and all those on our regular mailing list, should have already received application forms to play in the Easter Concert, but if you have lost yours or you wish to reply by email, or if you are a local newcomer looking for an orchestra, here is a further invitation to play. The 2010 Easter Concert will be on Saturday April 3rd at St. Nicholas Church at 7.30pm and we are lucky to have the 2009 Sevenoaks Young Musician of the Year, Yasmin Rowe, performing Beethoven's 4th Piano Concerto. Conductor is Brynly Clarke and the other pieces are Brahms D Major Serenade and Vaughan Williams' Overture "The Wasps".
There are lots of other exciting opportunities to play and the Lydian is always looking for new members, particularly those who can commit to playing regularly. As you know there are three concerts a year at Christmas, Easter and in the Summer with the possibility of an annual tour in 2011. So if you have friends who might like to join please tell them about us or ask them along to our next concert. New players need to be aged between 14 and 25 and preferably Grade 7 for the strings, and Grade 8 for the woodwind.
I am sorry that this time we need to ask for a joining fee of £10 which will be collected at rehearsal time because we have to cover the costs of music and venue hire.
