Lydian Training Orchestra
The Training Orchestra, founded by June Clements in 1989, provides the opportunity for young string players to gain orchestral experience of a high standard from their early days of learning their instrument. Many players go on to become members of the main Lydian Orchestra and there are also shared performances with them at some concerts. The LTO holds two courses each year for string players of grade 3 to approx grade 6 standard, or on instrumental teachers’ recommendation.
The next course is to be held on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th March 2012 at The Judd School [Music Department], Brook Street, Tonbridge TN9 2PN and is to be conducted by Michael Hitchcock, Director of the LTO. Course details below:
Repertoire is chosen to inspire and challenge participants both musically and technically. There will be an opportunity for some ensemble playing. The course will end with an informal concert for parents and friends.
There is a playing fee of £45 for the weekend. Soft drinks and biscuits are provided for the breaks. Players should bring a packed lunch each day, as well as a 2B pencil and an eraser.
If you would like to join us please print off and complete the slip below and return it as soon as possible with a cheque for £45 [payable to the Lydian Training Orchestra] to "The Lydian Training Orchestra, 27 Dry Hill Park Road, Tonbridge TN10 3BL"
Alternatively you may submit the form electronically as shown below on the understanding that you will bring a cheque for £45 on the first day of the Course. (Parent's signature not required)
