Dear Player,

Before revealing what lies ahead for the Lydian in the coming academic year, I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who went to Edinburgh this summer: the trip was both musically and socially successful.  I hope that you all had as much fun as I did!

Now, the information you have all been eagerly awaiting.  Here are the details of the Christmas Concert 2008, to be conducted by Ethan Merrick.

DATE: Sunday, 21^st December, 2008 ……   …..

VENUE: Trinity Arts Theatre, Tunbridge Wells                                                              

Programme will include:

Mozart – Seraglio Overture
Bach – Concerto in A minor for Violin with me, Alice Plant
Canteloube– Songs of the Auvergne with Amy Moore
Dvorak - New World Symphony

Rehearsal Schedule:

Please bring food to eat in the breaks of all rehearsals.

• The Easter Concert 2009 will take place on 4^th April, 2009 at St Nicholas Church, Sevenoaks.  It will be conducted by Barry Griffiths.  Rehearsals will be in the week prior to the concert.   The Summer concert will be on Sunday July5th

WHAT TO DO NEXT

• Look in your diary/calendar/check with the parents NOW.

• Fill in the reply slip included, even if you cannot play.  Put it in an envelope along with a cheque for £10 made payable to the Lydian Orchestra, write my address on the envelope, put a stamp on it and post

• Do all of the above by 15^th September 2008, please!

When replying by post please assume that you are playing.

Places will be given on a first-come-first-served basis from the date your application form lands on my doorstep. 

Any necessary changes to the rehearsal schedule will be posted on the Lydian website (www.lydian.org.uk) one week before rehearsals start.

Please, please, please everyone reply by the deadline.  It is so helpful if you do.  We will need to finalise a programme so need to know what we are working with.

P.S.  We are currently looking to recruit a secretary.  If you know of anyone with suitable experience who would be interested, please get in touch with me.
