France - 22nd-29th July 2017

The orchestra has just returned from a highly successful tour to the Loire Valley in France, performing in the magnificent venues below: Poitiers Cathedral, Château de Chambord, Château de Valençay and Orléans Cathedral.  The final concert took place in Sevenoaks in the wonderful acoustic of the Pamoja Hall.  Our conductor, Brynly Clarke, had the following to say:
the Lydian tour of France, and the final concert in Sevenoaks, were well up amongst the highlights of my musical career. The orchestral playing from a group with so many under 18 year olds was simply outstanding, our soloist Bethany played with stunning technical facility, but more importantly, superb musicianship and passionate intensity, and the willingness of everyone to work really hard to achieve the best performances possible was inspiring. But watching a group of young people from all over Kent (and beyond) get to know one another, form wonderful friendships and transform into a 50-strong family, was even more life-affirming. I very much hope I will have the tremendous privilege of conducting you again in the not too distant future.
